My friend, Brenda, and I would play Monopoly for days and I always got to sleepover her house! The forts we made out of the thatch grass, crabbing, fishing, exploring, looking for shells and driftwood after a storm, driving my dad's boat and being first mate even though I was girl, the wind through my hair as the salty spray flew back to hit my face as we raced back to the marina because of an unexpected storm that blew in, cleaning fish, feeding the seagulls, but most of all, enjoying the island and all that it had to offer with my Dad. He moved, just off the island, in the last 2-3 years, but that's where his heart is, and that is who taught me how to love the island to this day. The island may change, but my memories never will. I Love you Dad! Thank you and don't forget to tell Uncle Bobby that I said "Hi!" from San Diego! No one will ever know how much I miss being back on the island...and the memories.....well,... they take you back to another time...that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world...not ever."
