The number one question this day is "What's up with the storm?".
Bertha is the first Hurricane that worried us here on the East coast
this 1996 season. At the time of writing this report, all pressure of
serious local flooding is off. Bertha has moved inland and will
continue to wreck havoc with strong winds and sporadic thunderstorms.
Large low pressure systems and a lot of rain can dramatically effect the fishing. As the low pressure systems approach many fish will feed aggressively and as the storm passes, the fish usually stop biting for a few days if water conditions are adversely effected. Rough water and dirty water or Mullica River water with a greater concentration of fresh water will change where a fish will stay as well as its feeding pattern. So what does all this mean?, one may ask. Basically, I have to say its a wait and see game at this point.
Hard to talk fishing with bertha hogin' the scene. I am real glad she isn't going to visit!
