Stripers
Well, most of the people reading this are probably thinking that
there are no stripers out there. It's an interesting thing when 300
boats fish last weekend and three fish get caught. I just don't think
the stripers want you to think that catching them is getting too easy.
Take heart, a new wave of stripers have arrived. He he, and so has
the 25 to 40 mile an hour winds of a good fall North Easter. The
weatherman just predicted that the first game of the World Series
baseball game is going to be rained out on Sunday night. So, it looks
like the wind and rain are here for the weekend.
Fishing Review
A quick rundown on the fishing this week. The wind was not to
cooperative and kept most anglers fishing in the bay. A few of the
boats that did brave the ocean fished close to the beach to avoid the
rougher seas. This did not allow them to search out the better pods
of weakfish. Large weakies, around three pounders were caught but, in
very small numbers. The fluke have been a couple of miles off shore
in the 45 to 60 foot depth range and the seas were too rough for
anyone to actually fish for them.
Striper Regulation
The striper regulations for our area are a 2-fish at 28" minimum
length per person bag limit per day. The fish can be measured for a
maximum length of closed mouth to the furthest tip of the tail. Be
cautious not to bend the tape measure. The arc of the tape can ad an
extra inch on to the length of your fish. Lay the fish on top of the
tape measure or along side of the tape measure for the most accurate
reading.

Fall hours:
Monday through Friday 7:30am to 7:00pm
Saturday 6:00am to 7:00pm
Sunday 6:00am to 5:00pm
